Mark Zook
Principal, AIA, LEED AP

Mark is respected for his calm, thorough, and thoughtful approach to all challenges, characteristics that add value to all situations. Continually driving for good design and the best project outcome, Mark is a skilled critical thinker and efficient decision-maker with leadership skills that guide positive results. A 1999 graduate of The University of Tennessee College of Architecture + Design, Mark has over two decades of experience practicing Architecture.

Mark’s architectural career began in Nashville, followed by three years in Boston before returning to Nashville and joining HASTINGS in 2003. As a Principal, Mark is responsible for managing the firm’s most complicated and challenging projects. In addition to his experience in leading projects such as Asurion Gulch Hub, 805 Lea, Vertis Green Hills, Twelve | Twelve, and Terrazzo, Mark has detailed knowledge of residential, educational, commercial, recreational, and workplace projects.

Mark is actively involved in the Nashville community and regularly coaches his children’s sports teams. Mark served six years as a board member for the Friends of Warner Parks, and he is a past participant in the Young Leaders Council of Nashville.

Mark has an insatiable appetite for new challenges and adventure, and his diligent commitment to personal growth doesn’t stop with architecture. Mark is always looking for the next outdoor adventure, be it hiking the remote mountain regions of the American West with his wife, backcountry camping in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with his son, or navigating the mountain biking trails of Percy Warner Park with his daughter.
