Mill Ridge Regional Metro Park Wins a 2024 AIA Middle Tennessee Merit Award

Mill Ridge Regional Metro Park has won a Merit Award at the AIA Middle Tennessee Celebration of Architecture Awards on October 16th, 2024.

The AIA Middle TN Design Awards Program strives to recognize, publicize, and celebrate projects that represent the best of Middle Tennessee architecture; projects that are exemplary for their thoughtful, sustainable, innovative, and well-crafted design.

The judges found that, "Mill Ridge Regional Metro Park celebrates the unique cedar glade ecosystem. The outdoor classrooms and interactive art installation inspired by the school's Marching Band encourage creative exploration through music and movement. The jury commends the collaboration with the landscape architecture, as the park masterfully integrates diverse areas—lush gardens, vibrant sports corridors, and festive gathering spaces—connected by greenways and trails. The simple but elegant material palette of the structures complement the overall richness in the design of this vibrant public space."
