This year’s NOMA Conference was held in Baltimore, Maryland. Participants started arriving on Thursday morning to attend sessions focused on community advocacy, equity, and justice—key pillars of NOMA's mission. The day concluded with a lively reception hosted by the local chapter at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History & Culture. The theme of the night was “Pep Rally” and in true HASTINGS fashion, the group donned NOMAnash branded varsity jackets.

On Friday, attendees had the opportunity to explore Baltimore’s Inner Harbor by both land and sea and participate in impactful sessions throughout the day. One notable session, “The Others of NOMA: Minorities within Minorities,” highlighted the significant contributions and personal histories of Asian American, Jewish American, and female members of the organization. The day concluded with the 2024 Awards Banquet, which offered a moment of reflection on members who were lost this year, including Curtis Moody, FAIA of Moody Nolan, and celebrated design award recipients and newly elected leaders.

Saturday, the final full day of the conference, featured the Grad Fair & Expo, where various architecture firms, graduate schools, and organizations gathered. This provided an opportunity for conversations with students and professionals from across the country about HASTINGS and its offerings. These interactions continued into our "Before the Ball" event at The Peale, Baltimore’s Community Museum and the oldest museum building in the U.S. The event attracted both emerging and established professionals, creating an enjoyable Bro’s Arts Ball event that capped off an engaging and exciting conference. We now look forward to 2025’s conference taking place in Kansas City!
